The Daytona Antique Auto Racing Assoc fall national event will have a whole new look and time this year. Yesterday, I had a very positive conversation with organization president Dale Miller. We discussed several issues with the group including the new venue for the upcoming "Nationals".

This time the event will be a bit later than in previous years with the dates of November 29 through December 2nd. The biggest change however is the location which will now be the Bronson Speedway in Archer, Florida. Dale is very positive about they way track management is working with DAARA to bring this event together. Archer is on hwy 24 south of Gainsville. The buzz and early conversation about this new scenario to this point has been very positive. Most of us are getting a bit older and set in our ways and tend to resist change. Perhaps we should begin to think positive about the new possibilities that await us this November.

Again there will be 9 classes of some of the best vintage cars and drivers in the nation. We anticipate Larry Bailey serving up his one of a kind Alabama stew. There are continual family activities concluding with the Sunday morning worship service. Of anything Nancy and I do through the year, the fall and spring DAARA Nationals are the most anticipated. If you came in the past and are undecided about making the trip this November, I encourage you to do so. It should be a great week. If you have never ventured to one of these vintage events, make plans to join us for great racing, yarn spinning and an all around good time. Details may be found by going to www.daararacing.com. If you have any interest at all in the history of our sport, put this event on your calendar. See you there.
