Hey, it's an outdoor sport so weather is going to wreck things on occasion. This spring has been tough however, and this weekend is no exception. Much of the south, mid-west and east will be washed out. It is wide spread enough that in most cases you can't head in another direction and find a place to run.

Many teams are on the edge financially and need every night of competition they can get. Keeping sponsors happy, paying the bills and limiting travel expenses are all major considerations of every team. Equipment in the trailer accomplishes none of this. Here in Florida, we have been the exception but I am sure our turn is coming.

In all the years that I did this, it seemed that every season was full of challenges all of which were threats to our survival. This season however could sideline a lot of teams with some hanging it up for good. In short, I feel our sport is under a serious threat from inflation, fuel prices and the lack of many a fan to have the ability to finance a racing weekend. The weather will eventually improve but concerted effort to ruin our economy from within appears to be here for the forseeable future.
