New owner Joe McIlvaines' re-grand opening of Wayne County Speedway of Orrvile, Ohio rescued the 3/8-mile dirt track from certain extinction at auction in late spring, McIlvaine who had turned over the promoting chores and daily operations to long-time friend and racer Jason Flory, had but one goal entering Friday's season opener. "Our only motivation for taking over the Speedway was return it to the prominence it once enjoyed in the early 1990's," said Flory. "Even though my wife (Kristin) and myself raced stock cars here starting in the late 90's, l love sprint car racing, and we wanted to see it return to this area, which is full of tradition, along with one of the most loyal and hard-core fan bases in this part of the country."
