Prayer Requests

First, thank you for including us in your prayer life. Submitted prayers, published or private are prayed for each morning, every morning. Prayers are kept on our list for one month unless we get an update, praise report or are asked that they be removed. We believe our prayer requests are a three way covenant between the submitter, ourselves and God. We do our best to uphold our part. If you have any problem with any request or or an update please let us know. Thank you and God bless.

Please pray for Andy C. who recently married. Andy is a fascinating person. He was born in Taiwanese, an orphan who was adopted by an American family. Always seeking God, he found Him in the Byzantine-Ruthenian Catholic Church where he fellowships at St Athanasius Byzantine Catholic Church in Indianapolis. He is a funny guy and an exercise nut who runs half-marathons and marathons. He has an undisclosed health problem and he and his girlfriend decided to get married. So pray for his recovery and for their marital happiness. And thank you for your prayers. My daughter Kathy and I spent Thanksgiving in Indianapolis with my wife Julie and son Nick. We had a great time together. Please pray for Julie who is doing her best to handle a difficult transition and for our son Nick who just can't seem to understand that school is more important than his cell phone. As always, I pray for you and your needs. God bless.

Richard 'Dick' Schott, who passed away this last Wednesday. Mr. Schott was a college and professional football player, school administrator, teacher, and coach, and father to one of our good friends. Dick was a long time teacher, coach and school administrator in the Catholic and public schools in Indianapolis. Dick was a physically large man who did well in football. He was also bright and completed two master's degrees in order to become a teacher, school administrator and coach. He loved his family and the kids he taught along the way. Nancy Vaught, who passed away this weekend. Nancy was the sister-in-law of one of our good friends. He and her husband were brothers, and together farmed acreage in Johnson County (just south of Indianapolis). They were all just out for a drive recently when she had a stroke. They immediately drove to the hospital where she suffered more and passed just days later. Completely unexpected, as she was in good health, ate the right things and exercised. Please pray for my sister-in-law Linda Grow. She is my wife Julie's sister. Linda has cancer and has chosen to end her chemo treatments. Please pray for Linda, her immediate family and her siblings and extended family as they discover God's journey for them.

An update on my sister-in-law Linda Grow who has cancer and has stopped taking her chemo. She is hospitalized tonight with a fever. This is a crucial night. The treatments have not been able to bring her temperature down. Please pray that the Lord will guide her and her family through these most difficult hours. I also ask your prayers for the repose of the soul of Sue Robinson. Sue and her husband Jeff are long, great friends. We all met while in college. Sue became a nurse and Jeff farms in White County, Indiana. She passed on November 20. They were parents and grandparents. Please ask the Lord to be with Jeff and their family and loved ones. I pray all is well with you. May God bless and keep you.

Please pray for Sammy P. Sam is a member of my Rotary Club. At our meeting earlier this week, he collapsed and is hospitalized. Please pray that the Lord will be with him and his family and for his recovery. Also, please pray for the residents of Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas. Many years ago, Kansas Christian Home, which is a residential community for older adults, was a part of the National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I was development director at Robin Run Village in Indianapolis, likewise an older adult community that was part of NBA. I was blessed to visit Kansas Christian Home yesterday, which is close to Emporia, and to meet its CEO Karen Sturchio, who is an outstanding leader. Please pray for Karen, her staff and the residents of Kansas Christian Home. As always, I pray for you and your needs.

Please pray for Sherry L. She suffers from an undiagnosed wasting disease. She is fragile and weak and doctors have not been able to find a cause. Pray for her and her family. Please pray for Anna L. She recently had surgery and is recuperating. Also, I ask for your continued prayers for my family. Our move to Kansas is proving to be very challenging for my wife and son who are beyond stressed out. Julie is struggling with dealing with house projects and our son is having problems in school in his senior year of high school. It's causing us all a great deal of anxiety. Please ask the Lord to provide comfort and reassurance. As always, I pray for your needs. God bless. Mike

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Carla Catalino Erickson of Indianapolis who lost her fight with cancer this week. Please pray for Barry H. of Houston, Texas. Barry was just laid off from his job with Hewlett-Packard. The plant was damaged by the storms in Texas this year and is permanently closed. (2 rebuilds in 18 months; they threw in the towel.) As an aside, Barry has HIV and Hepatitis C and is a great advocate for services for people with hemophilia and HIV/HepC. He has ridden across the US 5 times and up the AlCan Highway to raise money and awareness for treatments for people with bleeding disorders.
