OCTOBER 14 RAINED OUT--358 MAKEUP FEATURE ADDED TO FALL FEST
MECHANICSBURG, PA--Friday night’s racing program featuring sprint cars and 358-sprints at Williams Grove Speedway was rained out.
Heavy rain throughout the morning and into the afternoon saturated the speedway and parking areas forcing track officials to cancel the races at approximately 2:15.
The only racing event remaining on the Grove’s 2011 schedule is the Fall Fest set for Saturday, October 22, at 7:00.
Because of Friday night’s rainout the Fall Fest will be even bigger with the addition of a makeup feature for the 358-sprints. This was the feature originally rained out on September 4. This race will be the only point race at Fall Fest and will determine the American Ceramic Tile champion in the 358-sprint division. Pat Cannon currently leads Logan Schchart and is on the verge of clinching his fourth championship.
In addition to the makeup feature, the Fall Fest will consist of features for the sprint cars, 358-sprints, super sportsman cars, 358-late models and SpeedStr’s.
There will be no time trials or qualifying of any kind, just feature races in each division for this invitational event.
Friday night’s cancellation also made the team of driver Lance Dewease and his car owners, Don and Lisa Owens, the Lawrence Chevrolet track champions and they will share $20,000 for their effort.
The championship presentation will be made at the Williams Grove Speedway banquet on Saturday, November 12, at the Radisson Penn Harris in CampHill.
