There was a time when track preparation folks were working on the track as we were loading the cars into the trailers. Not any more. Some begin just hours before an event. The traveling groups want a slick track to save the motors. The bottom line is the fans suffer and there are frequent disasters like Terre Haute on the 3rd. We want people in the stands, but send them home as dirty as the competitors. Many don't come back. Today the norm is that the track is finished about the same time as the end of qualifying. Oh well, progress I guess.

HAPPY FOURTH! Remember all those responsible for our freedom. Countless lives through the years were sacrificed for us to have what we still possess today. It isn't perfect but is far above whatever comes in second. Remember the founders and all who followed keeping the vision.
