In spite of threatening weather during the early part of the day Gas City I-69 Speedway opened the gates and got in a great evening of racing. The stands were rather sparse and those who decided to not make the trip missed some good features in each division. There were thirty two sprints which attempted to grab one of the twenty feature spots. Some good teams were left to be spectators when the green flag waved for the A-main.

This was my first visit to Gas City this season and I hope to make it back while on our tour. It was good to see that the management did not listen to the TV weather people and the show was run under only cloudy but hot skys. I want to thank Gas City for their hospitality and there will be a column coming soon as a result of this event. It was great to renew old friendships and to make new ones. We will not go into detail but a related column will soon show up on our "Not Just Another Racing Column" on the site.

Our northern reporter Randy Cronk showed up and added to the evening. It would be nice to see more people take advantage of some great racing at an easy to reach venue. Our next stop will be....well I have to clear that with my social director who is at this time visiting with old friends in Tipton. IN. From both of us, God Bless and see you at the races.
