This is great. Take a moment to read it; it will make your day! Take my Son..... A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.. When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.. He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly... He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.' The father Opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his

The True Story of Rudolph A man named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night. His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob's wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer Little Barbara couldn't understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad's eyes and asked, 'Why isn't Mommy just like everybody else's Mommy?' Bob's jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob. Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember. From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn's bout with c

The Christmas Tree The Christmas tree is a mandala, a bundle of symbols showing what creation has to offer: light and the movement of angels, the gifts of orchard and field, forest and sea, all topped off by the star that pointed to the end of the journey, the place of peace. During Advent in the XIth century, scenes called mysteries, including one about Paradise, were very popular. A tree decorated with red apples symbolized the tree of Paradise. During the XVth century, the faithful began to put up trees in their own houses on December 24, the feast day of Adam and Eve. However, the first Christmas tree as we know it, but without lights still, appeared in Alsace in 1521. It was introduced in France by the Princess Hélène de Mecklembourg who brought one to Paris after her marriage to the Duke of Orleans. In the XVIIIth century, the custom of decorating a Christmas tree was well established in Germany, France and Austria. In 1841, Prince Albert (originally from Germany), husband of Queen Victoria, set up a Christmas tree at Windsor Castle in England. From the royal court, the custom of Christmas trees spread quickly to the middle clas

HEALTH MESSAGE:1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat.3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.4. A tortoise doesn't run, does nothing ...yet lives for 450 years. AND YOU TELL ME TO EXERCISE!I'm retired; just go around me.     Seriously folks  exercise is great,  I hate it but it does work.  My husband has been making me walk about 2 miles everyday except Sundays.  My cholesterol numbers have come down, triglicerides down, blood pressure down, diabetes numbers very low and well the best part is for a month now I have lost 13 lbs.  Oh yes I gave up eating sweets, no artificial sweetners and no sodas.  Once you start you don't even miss the junk.  (once you taste it again you'll get hooked on sugars again) I've lost inches (oh no I never measure before I start) you can tell by my clothes and people are actually noticing and that is nice.  The best reward is my health has improved. So start a plan of exercise for your health.  It doesn't have to be a hard thing.  Do what you can;  but do it regularly.

Do you know for sure?  Would you go to Heaven? God's word, the Bible says we can know Here's how: 'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God'  Romans 3:23 God's word is clear. All mankind has sinned before the righteous God. Everyone has fallen short of God's standards. 'For the wages of sin is death...'  Romans 6:23 Wages means 'Payment'. The Bible say's all sin leads to death. 'But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.'    Romans 5:8 God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died for our sins. Jesus made the payment for you on the cross. '...... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.'  Romans 6:23 God's gift to you was his Son-Jesus. It was Jesus who died on the Cross for you and it is Jesus who gives you eternal life. 'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.' Romans 10:9 Salvation is possible only through Jesus, God's Son. If you believe in Jesus and receive him as your Savior, the Bible say's you can be saved. 'For whosoever shall call upon

It is not common for a Koala to bear twins, and regrettably in this instance the Mum was struck and killed by a passing car. Fortunately, the driver stopped, and took the mother to the local vet, not knowing she was dead, where it was discovered she had these twins in her pouch. First photo: Tiny koala being fed with syringe … sooo tiny! Followed by a pictorial chronology of their growth…   Thanks for saving my life! It’s so nice to see a story that has a happy ending in these troubled times. Taking care of others is a great way to forget about our own problems and difficulties! Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

'He' is Jesus, the son of God, who came to earth to save us. It is important to know about these extraordinary events because, through Jesus , God opens the doors of heaven to all who believe. Jesus is God's answer to a world ruined by sin.   *HE CAME* His first appearance was so important that even now, 2000 years later, we celebrate his birthday at Christmas.  Yet he spent only 3 years teaching and preaching before he was killed.  Why is he important? He came the first time to solve the basic problem of mankind: the sin problem which separates people from God.  Jesus is the only son of God who came to rescue mankind from sin. His teachings are wonderful.  You can read the story of his life in two hours in one of the short books (called Gospels) written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. But more important than what he said is what he did.  Although he never sinned, he took the punishment due us because of our sins.  He died for us.  Those who accept him as their substitute will not have to pay for their sins.  This is God's plan for rescuing mankind.   *HE WENT BACK* God showed his approval of Jesus' work by raising him from the

USE OF BOTTLE TOPS TO SEAL A BAG.....  WHO EVER THOUGHT OF THIS SHOULD GET A GREEN MEDAL WHAT A GREAT IDEA.  NO MORE TWIST TIES OR RUBBER BANDS. This method is WATER PROOFAND AIR TIGHT.  GREAT!  The guy who first thought of the idea should be given an award for originality!!! Seal Plastic Bags with Old Bottle Caps Cut up a disposable water bottle and keep the neck and top, as in photo. Insert the plastic bag through the neck and screw the top to seal. The bag is made to be air-tight, such that water will not leak, the secret lies with the top and screw cap! This is a great idea to share.     Good for us and the environment too. Zip-top bags are great, but sometimes you buy something in bulk and you're stuck with an unsealable bag. Home-centric blog Re-Nest shows us an easy way to give these bags an airtight seal with an old water bottle. All you need to do is cut off the top of the bottle and take off the cap. Push the bag through the bottle neck, fold it over the edges, and twist the cap back on. Now, your bag has an air and water tight seal, and you didn't have to waste the bag.
