Saturday May 16, was our Tupelo Honey Festival. The bees are late making the Tupelo honey this year due to the weather; so a few of them had Orange Blossom Honey (It was actually very tasty). some just had a sign that said local honey. (I'm sure that wasn't Tupelo honey). They told us that the bees were much more aggressive from the orange blossoms. My thoughts were that the cleaning products with orange in them are very strong. So the bees were probably hyper. They even had bee pollen for sale this year. I guess that can be used for healing & skin care. Interesting!
Lots of booths, lots of people, games, amusements for the kids, live music entertainment under the pavilion & a long string of great food booths with everything from sausage loaded with peppers & onions, alligator on a stick, chicken, fish, turkey legs, burgers & hot dogs. We seem to always get lured by the sausage sandwiches each year. Haven't tried the alligator yet! ??The festival was held at Lake Alice the street around the front of the lake and viewable from our house. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
