Sept 13 We finally got in some well over due racing excitement.  Yesterday morning we left for Lake City, FL to go to the North Florida Speedway racetrack.

We arrived in Lake City around 3:30pm and just happened to find a Steak N Shake restaurant.  We hadn't enjoyed one since we left Indiana.

The venue included Open Wheel Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Sportsman, Midgets, DAARA and double feature for the box stocks.

Cars lined up in the pits.

Dave Cash & Jimmy M. working on tune up for The Gambler car.

Captain Jack Sapp getting his car ready.

Sweat pouring down our faces and shirts soaked but we still managed to enjoy watching the races and talking to the drivers.

The blood mobile was also there for those who wanted to donate blood. All donors received a hat.

We gave blood for the past two months at Walmart in Callaway.  The One Blood bloodmobile is there every month.

It was a long 4 hour drive home but fortunately our driver Dudley managed to stay awake so he could avoid the 10 - 15 deer he saw.  I saw one.

Made it home around 2am safely with God's protective hedge on us.  So we got up early this morning to attend church at the Taunton's Children's Home family church and Sunday school.  After lunch Dudley is enjoying a football game on TV while sleeping.

I think that is a man thing.

May your day be filled with joy and the presence of God!
