The Cradle, the Cross, and the Crown

Well Christmas is over, time to take
down the decorations.

As I look at a native scene, I can't
help but think that this is only the beginning of Jesus'  redemptive
plan.  He still had to endure the cross.  When I see a nativity
display, I envision the  shadow of the cross across it.  Then I
envision a glittering crown above that shadow.

Jesus said  "Take up the cross, and
follow me”  Where was He going?  To Calvary to be crucified.
If we are to be followers of His,  We
must take up His cross and be crucified with Him.
The Apostle Paul said, "I die daily” I Cor 15:31

In  Lu 9:23  Jesus said  "If any man
will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow me.”

If we take up His cross and crucify
ourselves to the world everyday,  we will receive His crown.

Paul writes in 2Ti 4:8  "Henceforth
there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but
unto all them also that love his appearing”.

The Cradle is not the whole story,  We
must remember the Cradle, the Cross, and the Crown.
